You and your friends went to an old style carnival looking for something new and fun to do. As you wandered through the crowd your group broke up. It was hard to keep everybody together because everybody wanted to do their own thing. Some were lead off by other people, some wandered off on their own and some stayed with you. Everybody agreed to meet at the fun house at sunset because it was easy to find and you were traveling together.
At sunset you and the people with you were at the fun house. You waited and waited. A few of your group showed up on their own. Everybody wondered where the rest of the group was. You kept waiting. Just before the carousel shut down for the night the last of the group showed up. The carnie running the fun house started his pitch trying to fill the fun house one last time. He offered a discount if everybody went in to play the games. A quick debate and discussion and almost everybody was on board with the idea. The few people who didn’t want to play the games decided to join rather than stand around and wait.
The carnie herded you through the door and closed it behind you.
The room was poorly lit but through the gloom you could see the outlines of different arcade games and equipment. A voice spoke out…
“You chose to stay
past the end of day.
Now you are confined
until you find
the key and the way
The games you play
will light the way.”
When players enter the room, they see an assortment of carnival style games, props, and thematic artwork. The games are dark, and there are no lights to indicate they are in operation. Players walk among the games to first learn what they can play. There is a power switch on the far wall, but it is locked with a four digit number lock. The exit is locked with a six digit number lock, which they will need to crack in order to escape!
This room is perfect for people who may be new to escape rooms, while still offering a sizeable challenge. The combination of puzzles (memory, logic, pattern recognition, and spatial), and traditional carnival games of skill and dexterity ensure that there is something for everyone.
